The Scherb FriendsGiving Classic is a new community tradition created to bring friends, families, and neighbors together in one of the most beautiful places we are fortunate enough to call home.
This isn't a race. It's a celebration of health, friendship, gratitude, and the incredible coastal surroundings of Palos Verdes.
As we approach Thanksgiving, we invite you to slow down, get outside, reconnect with friends, meet new neighbors, and appreciate the place and community we share.
Bring your family, invite your friends, and pack a picnic or bag lunch to enjoy together afterward. No competition, no finish-line pressure — simply a wonderful morning spent outdoors.
What to Expect
Join us for a family-friendly community walk, hike, or fun run along the stunning coastline of Palos Verdes Estates.
Our out-and-back route offers distances up to approximately 10K (6.2 miles), but you are welcome to go as short or as long as you'd like.
Whether you walk a mile, hike a few miles, or run the full 10K, everyone is welcome to participate at their own pace.
We'll gather at 10:00 AM and begin our walk at 10:30 AM.

The FriendsGiving Classic Route
Our journey begins at the Palos Verdes Beach Club, where we'll head west along Paseo del Mar, overlooking beautiful Bluff Cove and the Pacific Ocean.
From there, we'll continue toward the Blufftop Trail, enjoying breathtaking coastal scenery with sweeping views of the Queen's Necklace stretching toward Malibu.
We'll follow Paseo del Mar through Lower Lunada Bay, taking in the ocean breezes, dramatic cliffs, and spectacular surroundings that make Palos Verdes such a special place.
For those completing the full 10K, the approximate turnaround point will be near the Palos Verdes Estates cliffs by Palos Verdes High School.
From there, we'll retrace our steps along the coastline and return to our starting point.
